USA wins, but not very convincingly. Senegal held 55% possession and had many chances that they should’ve taken, but USA was lucky enough to hold on. Sadio Mane was huge for Senegal with both their goals, but Pulisic also stepped up big for the US, assisting Dest on his first goal then scoring to give us a 2-goal lead 20 minutes in. Balogun scored twice in the second half, but one was taken back. There’s a ton to improve upon but we also substituted our entire team for the second half, with the full starting lineup with normal substitutions I think we’ll be much better. Any day is a good day when the United States of America wins!!!

Maybe it's because a little over 24 hours ago I watched the highest level of soccer on the planet and my brain is still using that as the benchmark. Cus what I saw with my own two peepers right now was downright terrifying.
I know this was a friendly. I know players are being cautious with the real thing just 11 days away. But that was really really bad. Like MACtion soccer bad.
The U.S. looked painfully slow in attack, while Senegal was somehow whiffing on chances inside the box. The passing was sloppy. The pace was choppy. Everything felt a step behind. I started watching around the 60th minute after seeing Senegal had scored their second, so I missed the goals themselves, but not for a lack of opportunities. Both sides were spraying shots all over the place. The contrast from yesterday's 2.5-hour soccer masterpiece was impossible to ignore.
Glad @Landon asked for this one at least I'm prepared for the let down now. My god man how does this happen every single time???

It was a great international friendly. You saw most of the lineup and plenty of goals. Some questionable officiating (especially with the second disallowed Balogun goal), but the Yanks pulled it out, and it was a friendly so who cares anyway? The US attack is lethal, but we're going to need Chris Richards to be back and Tim Ream to get about 8 years younger if we truly want to make noise.

I listen to this game while driving to the beach then watched the last 15 minutes on TV. This was a very exciting game, but was it a good soccer game? No. It lacked quality play from both sides. Pulisic played how he is expected to with a goal and assist. It’s concerning how many chances the States missed. Germanys next I’m curious to see how that will go. I think 3-1 Germany.
I keep on lowering this because I can’t decide if it was good or not. I started at a 7.6
