Unfortunately this game happened before I got into soccer. But I have always heard about it and seen clips. One of my good buddy’s who got my into soccer is a huge Liverpool fan, he always brings this game up. Absolutely incredible comeback against the best player to ever live. To dominate a Barca team like that is a big deal, especially when they have Messi.

You could put clutch situation Divock Origi 1v11 against a team of Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, Beckenbauer, Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol, Manuel Neuer, and literally everybody else in the world and Origi would still find a way to win. Dude did absolutely nothing 95% of the time but when you needed him he was just magically there.

at first glance it seems impossible for a 4-0 game to be this highly rated. one of the best examples of why playing two legs for a home and home is awesome. needing to win by 4 goals to advance to the champions league final and thats exactly what liverpool did. to this day i dont know what happened to barcelona this game but Liverpool just felt destined to advance. also has one of the greatest moments that defined an entire career with "corner taken quickly, ORIGI!" and was also the 4th and final goal liverpool needed

One of the most stunning comebacks in Champions League history and it is somehow not Liverpool’s greatest comeback (iykyk). Heading into this game, Barcelona looked destined to make it back to the Champions League Final in what looked like Messi’s magnum opus; after where Messi had blitzed Liverpool basically singlehandedly in the first leg.
Normally I’d say a comeback was unthinkable, but Barcelona had blown a similar lead the previous season. That hope for a blistering comeback is as sedated when Salah and Firmino were ruled out for the 2nd leg. Origi gave Liverpool an early goal, but Barca held the fort the rest of the first half. Klopp then made a valuable substitution, bringing in Wijnaldum for Robertson. He proceeded to score 2 quick goals and later, Trent Alexander-Arnold took the corner early to seal Barca’s fate. Origi really stepped up to lead the attack. Liverpool became just the 3rd team ever to comeback from 3 goals down between legs in the UCL. This game won them the UCL

OH MY DAYS!!!!!! I was 15, sat in my bedroom in the dark with the volume low so my mom wouldn’t shout, and I genuinely thought we were done after that 3-0 at the Nou Camp. I was proper gutted. But then Anfield happened. From the first minute the place was electric. You could feel it through the screen. Gini smashes one in, then another… and I’m already losing my mind. Then Origi. That header. I swear I jumped so hard I nearly put my foot through the ceiling. When the fourth went in I was proper screaming, tears in my eyes, proper ugly crying like a baby. My dad came running in thinking something was wrong 4-0. Against THAT Barcelona team. In the Champions League semi. At 15 years old that night made me believe in football magic again. I’ll never forget it. One of the greatest nights this club has ever given us. 10/10. No debate. YNWA ❤️🔴
