Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: Legendary performance in a much better game than you may realize as Michael Jordan nearly willed his team to victory against one of the best teams ever. I know this might be a shock, but I was not alive for this game. Luckily, we have the power of technology and thanks to YouTube, I was able to watch the full game. Michael Jordan came into this game as the heavy underdog. MJ had missed basically the entire season with a foot injury. Stan Albeck was his head coach in what would be the final year of his career as a head coach. There were virtually no good players alongside him (remember, no Pippin at this point). They had old man Gervin, who came in for 5 minutes and didn’t do anything, Young Charles Oakley, who was getting bullied by McHale and Parish, and Orlando Woolridge, a shoot-first forward. MJ’s 63 obviously led the team, but he also led the team in assists with 6. He was truly the engine. When MJ hit 63, he tied the game at 131 with 1 minute to go in 2OT. The ending was strange.
