Pretty frustrating loss for Georgetown. 18 missed free throws including several down the stretch, got destroyed on the glass, weren’t locked in defensively, and made a ton of mental errors. There was a long stretch where Malik Mack was the entire offense for the Hoyas. Tre Carroll was great for Xavier and the Musketeers simply out-toughed Georgetown for the majority of the game. Overall, not a crazy memorable or exciting game in and of itself, but I boosted my rating by a few points because of the following factors:
- It did come down to the last shot, despite all the bad basketball that led up to it.
- Ed Cooley launched a water bottle into the stands and hit a little kid, which he has been suspended one game for.
- I met a few members of the San Antonio Spurs who were sitting courtside, which was really cool.
