Another great game. It felt like Illinois left the door open for Wisconsin to run through and they kept running into the wall beside the door, especially with all the open 3s they missed. Eventually, they figured it out and went on a 17-5 run late to tie the game. Boyd was the driving force attacking the basket on all levels. The Badgers also picked the best time to find their shot. They had everything going for them. The only thing they didn’t have was Keaton Wagler. Wagler managed to tied it up and clinch his 2nd 30-point game. However, he left the door open for a game winner with a missed free throw. Blackwell clanked a 3 and Illinois foolishly didn’t use a timeout so this game went to OT. In OT, Blackwell tried to carve a redemption story after blowing the game winner and Boyd continued his brilliant scrappy play. Wagler never went away and kept them in this game, but it wasn’t enough. Winter grabbed a vital rebound in the final seconds and the Badgers sealed it at the line.
