The Badgers badgered the Spartans for a big upset and a vital win for their case of being ranked. Wisconsin pounced on Michigan Stare early and had them frazzled early and often, especially in the 1st half. The Spartans got throttled like the Persians in 300 had a million extra arrows to shoot at them. Nick Boyd led the charge in that regard. Putting up nearly 30 points in spite of him taking a more passive role in the 2nd half thanks to his 20 in the first half Blackwell supplied some extra buckets in the 2nd half with 20 of his own to ensure Michigan State couldn’t close the gap. It wasn’t just the awful shooting from the Spartans, they also couldn’t take advantage. Despite collecting 10 offensive rebounds, the Spartans only had 8 second chance points. They just couldn’t take advantage of the chances they got while the Badgers pounced on every chance they got. This was a blowout from beginning to end. It wasn’t too sloppy, but it was never in doubt who was going to win this one.

I’m so happy. I haven’t felt this good about Wisconsin basketball in a long time, what a win. We are now the only team in the country with 3 wins against top 10 teams (Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois) who are the 3 top teams in the big 10. This team can go as far as they want and im not gonna get my hopes up, but with the way they are playing right now, I could potentially see a deep run in the tournament. The badgers have not made it to the sweet 16 since 2017.
