Quite the win for #13 Michigan State on the road at #8 Purdue, 76-74! They now move ahead of Purdue in the BigTen Standings. Carson Cooper with 15 points for the Spartans, Kur Teng added 13 points. MSU has @ Indiana, vs Rutgers & @ #3 Michigan remaining.

Just a really good game. I had a hunch that Michigan State would be able to attack the paint and that bunch was proven correct as more than half of the Spartans’ points came inside the paint and they got 12 more off of free throws. Purdue did put up quite a fight thanks to their super efficient 3-point shooting that was nearly as good as MSU’s shooting from everywhere. The only issue in that regard was Braden Smith just chucking up 3s and bricking them more often than not, including a 3 that could’ve won the game for the Boilermakers. If he hits that, this game becomes an instant 9 imo. Purdue even made a small comeback in the last couple minutes, just couldn’t put a bow on it with the win. The biggest difference was taking advantage of opportunities, whenever Purdue made a mistake, the Spartans almost always pounced on that error. Considering how tight this game was down the stretch, they needed every single one of those points. Again, just a really good game.

FINALLY got a win in Mackey. First since 2014, earned every bit of it. I will continue to say that this Purdue team confuses me and underwhelms me, I don’t understand how this core of experienced players keeps coming up short. Go green

Pure B10 Hoops. MSU gets a good resume win. Purdue is not effected by this but I dont think they are as good as people think. And to be honest Im done with this Mackey ting. I dont think its a tough place to play. They have had good teams to make it seem so but 4 out of 6 losses this year are at home... Just saying man. Its nice seeing the 2 best coaches in a conference respect each other and have a good game to back it up

Never before in my life have I seen a ref crew lay down and take it as much as I did tonight. Izzo literally had them in his pocket. Not only that, but I have heard from countless alumni that Mackey has a legacy of being one of the hardest places to walk out of with a win. Hearing all of that only to drop 4 at home is so, so unbelievably deflating. It's the same thing I feel with Josh Allen, but there would have been no other player I would have trusted more to win the game in that moment, but just feel short... again. I know I shouldn't let sports control my emotions as much as I seem to do, but with the sky high expectations this team has, I don't know how else to feel but have a complicated mix of emotions. Just one game at a time I guess. Please Painter get Jacobsen off the team.

Michigan state climbs back to win a tough road game against number eight Purdue. I really like this Michigan State team and I think they can go on a deep run in March.

Gutsy win on the road by MSU. Had to work hard for it, and it was never a sure thing but they pulled it out in the end. There’s a reason it’s been 12 years since we’ve won in Mackey… super tough place to play, but the boys pulled it off. Probably the most impressive win of the season for this team, and it gives me a lot more confidence in them going into March.
