A 9 point game feels generous for how bad SJ was outplayed in this one. In the first half Saran was using shifty moves and getting whatever he wanted down low, either uncontested or poorly contested. In the second half Irvine’s bigs and Saran were drawing guys like NgaNga and Moundi out beyond the arc, leaving Jermaine Washington as the sole defender down low and he did his best but clearly isn’t big enough to hold it down, SJ Coach Tim Miles was so focused on stopping Saran that we was willing to give up easy buckets down low, just an abysmal coaching strategy. SJSU offensively thrives on driving into the paint and Irvine did a great job collapsing and preventing, only scoring chances were either uncontrolled drives or threes, which SJ can’t shoot right now with Javaughn Hannah still being out another week or so. Roseborough tried to get open but Irvine did a great job getting their hands in passing lanes. Just a great played match by Irvine defensively, gotta rebound better though
