Shades of 2022-23 Zac Gallen in this game. I truly don't know what happened to him. Dude went from back-to-back top 5 Cy Young finishes to just falling off a cliff. Him and Sandy Alcantara both. Very similar pitchers, guys who could eat innings and just get guys out. That really just isn't the way baseball is played anymore, pitchers are all about strikeouts, velocity, and nasty break, and Alcantara and Gallen don't have that. The closest we got to seeing a modern day Greg Maddux. The reality in Major League Baseball is that we just will never see a guy like Greg Maddux succeed like that again.
