Howard did not come for the food, they came to compete and they put Michigan on notice. Unlike Duke, the Wolverines put Howard in their place much sooner and didn’t rely on the starters getting gassed. The first half was a shootout. Both offenses were rolling and sprinting up and down the court. However, only one team could actually score in the paint consistently. Take a guess which team that was. Morez Johnson played a big role in that. Grabbing boards on the defensive end and getting the buckets inside. It wasn’t offensive rebounding that won the day, Michigan just dominated inside. Maybe Howard makes it close if they could’ve stopped a breeze in the paint, but they can still say they put up a fight. They actually forced more turnovers from the Wolverines while shooting really well from 3. Thank Gillus and Taylor for that.”
