Nyk Lewis, the A-10 Rookie of the Year, going down immediately, really spoiled this game for me. A formidable Ilini team beats the Rams in a blowout, ruining any chance of a big run for VCU.

I mean, this game went just about as expected. Man, we might not see more than just one double digit seed in the Sweet 16. What the hell has happened to March Madness? Ya know, I got the answer-NIL has ruined it. Usually, I'm a big supporter of NIL. It ensures that the young student-athletes get everything they need and can also learn how to responsibly manage money for the future, and many can use to help their families. For those reasons, I love NIL and I think it should stay. But it has completely taken away the Madness from March. No more Cinderella runs. No more Loyola-Chicago. No more Saint Peter's. No more George Mason. And I'll miss that.

Nyk Lewis getting injured at literally the start of the game killed VCU. They were close in this one and just needed that extra player. Could've really changed the course of the game. But thanks to the Rams for the great game Thursday will be one Ill remember.

This was a blowout, but it was an entertaining blowout. Illinois looked great this game. They played with a lot of energy and that poster by #44 was sick.

Stojakovic was there for Illinois when they needed him. Good first half but all Illinois in the 2nd half. Houston will be tough for them in the Sweet 16.

FR. North Carolina lost for this to be the performance that VCU puts up. Was not a close game and Illinois had no shot at ever losing this one. Onto the Sweet 16 for the Illini.
