I was at this game, competitive first half and competitive in spurts in the second half, but ultimately not too great. Shame bilodeau didn’t play, would’ve been an entirely different game if he did play. Bruins offense just got too stagnant, couldn’t score for stretches in the second half. Two killshots from UConn did us in. Disappointing end to a great late season run

UCLA tried but it was the Alex Karaban show. 27 points on 50% 3-PT shooting! Props to the Bruins for being in it for a good stretch, but at the end of the game, UCONN beat them by 16 points, another disappointing outing for the supposed "blue blood".

The most important matchup in my bracket doesn’t go my way and sets my bracket on fire thanks to Karaban. UCLA made me proud early, jumping out to a modest lead. UCLA also came out rolling in the 2nd half with a 6-0 run to take the lead back which became a 9-2 run 3 minutes into the 2nd half. The Bruins had their runs, so what happened? Well, UConn had better quantity and quality of runs. Most notably, UConn proceeded to go on a 14-0 run midway through the 2nd half shortly after UCLA’s previously mentioned 2nd half run. That put the Bruins right on the edge of tournament death, but Eric Dailey had an 8-0 run on his own to pull them out of that hole. Only for the coach to pull him from the game, UCLA goes scoreless for 3 minutes and UConn built up a new lead. I do not understand why Dailey didn’t stay in the game. Unless he was hurt, there is no good explanation when he had 12 of their 24 2nd half points and was a +9. Still, Karaban might’ve been too much anyway, he was amazing.

UCLA tried to hang in but UConn just outlasted them and will give us a great S16 matchup with MSU. That East region in Washington D.C. is going to provide us with some fireworks.

This game was great up until ucla decided they were done playing basketball with 5 minutes left

The first half was competitive when the second half was just a game of runs shame UCLA couldn't pull it off but it was a great game by UConn that run at the end of the game saved there tournament for sure

The Bruins didn’t get Bilodeau back for the tournament even though he “could have gone” against Purdue last week in the Big Ten Tourney and it finally caught up to them on offense. Huskies secure a spot in the sweet sixteen and set up what may be the greatest regional in the history of this tournament. Duke. St. Johns. Michigan State. UConn. Two absolute heaters on Friday night and all 4 potential elite eight matchups are juicy. We could have Izzo and Pitino battling to end final four droughts, the top two seeds in Duke and UConn, another chapter in the historic Blue Devils/Spartans rivalry or round 4 of the two premier programs in the Big East. I will be jealous of everyone in attendance.

Everyone has been hating on UConn lately. And rightfully so. But I think people are looking past the damage this team can do in the tournament. They were without Silas Demary last game and while he played a lot of minutes today he wasn't trying to go out and make big plays. Ideally for UConn, he's fully healthy by Thursday or Friday, whenever they play. Tarris Reed Jr continues to be a stud. Didn't recreate that 30-20 game the other day but still had a double double in this one. And Alex Karaban has been LIGHTS OUT from three. 4/9 against Furman and 4/8 today. There is a TON of talent on this UConn team and they've got the potential to go a long way.
