THE MADNESS IS STILL HERE and IOWA DEMANDS A ROUND OF APPLAUSE. Nebraska was on the cusp of their first ever Elite 8 appearance while Iowa was looking to get back to the Elite 8 for the first time since 1987. Nebraska showed no first-time jitters and looked great early. They built up a double digit lead before Iowa could tie their shoes. Still, Iowa knows a thing or two about adversity. Even though Nebraska led by 10 with 5 minutes to go, they cut it down to 3 thanks to a poster by Folgueiras and a last second 3 from Tate Sage. Nebraska managed to stay ahead of Iowa in the 2nd half, never giving up the lead… until the final minutes. Iowa goes on a 14-3 run to clinch the win and cement their run as the definitive magical run of this tournament. Sandfort was fantastic, but he and Nebraska could not stop the mighty Spaniard known as Folgueiras. When he wasn’t dunking on Nebraska, he was hitting bombs from deep. He and Stirtz got hot when it was needed most and they pull off another upset.

Nebraska fan take - That one really hurt. Iowa played a great game and so did Nebraska. Both team shot lights out and looked all the part of a Sweet 16/Elite 8 team. Hats off to them for hitting more big shots when it mattered.
I really hope this season isn’t remembered by how it ended, but what all was done throughout the season. It was one most won’t ever forget. There is a whole lot to build on for the Cornhuskers. If you asked 100 Nebraska basketball fans on December 1st what they wanted out of this season. 90/100 would’ve said “ to win a NCAA tournament game”. It’s hard to realize what you’ve accomplished when you’re in a position to accomplish more than you ever dreamed you would. Nebraska fans should be proud. 100% be upset with how it ended, but be proud of the team and the standard they’ve hopefully set.
