Although, the officials didn’t take this game from them, there are 2 guys that are most responsible for that. John Blackwell and Nick Boyd refused to let Wisconsin lose. After a 1st half where Illinois played slightly better than the Badgers, they got even better at the start of the 2nd half, extending their modest lead. With around 10 minutes to go, Boyd and Blackwell completely took over. I can’t tell you if any other Badger scored in that timeframe. They led the way on a much-needed run and tied the game with 2 minutes to go and we got overtime because of it. In OT, Blackwell and Boyd kept rolling, all they needed was 1 teammate to step up. That teammate was Austin Rapp who hit a 3 to give Illinois a 5-point lead. Illinois gave the Badgers a scare, but Wisconsin completed the upset and they know exactly who to thank. They became the first Wisconsin duo with 30 each in decades.”
