What a week for the Boilers in Chicago. Michigan looked very beatable in their first two games and Purdue actually takes down the Wolverines in the final. Two man game between TKR and that #41 guy was unstoppable. I wonder why he hasn’t gotten more minutes until today…

The Boilermakers found a way. They upset Michigan in the Big 10 final and win the conference. Most importantly, Braden Smith is exactly 1 assist away from Bobby Hurley’s all-time assist record. The rebounding wasn’t nearly as strong as it was against UCLA, but Cluff and Kaufman-Renn wreaked havoc inside the paint, both shooting well-above 60%. Kaufman-Renn didn’t even need the free throws. The man is the opposite of a free throw merchant. Those 2, along with Smith and Loyer, led the charge and helped Purdue keep Michigan at arm’s length throughout most of this game. Even when we got into the final minutes, the Wolverines just couldn’t find an edge, making their climax in this tournament ultimately disappointing. The Boilermakers are getting hot at the right time, all they can hope for is this doesn’t blow up in their face.
