Tim "Down Goes Anderson" Anderson really did it. Happy Retirement to him. Beautiful stadium. Sold out Crowd. Great Game. Perfect. This 9th Inning was crazy.

Yankees are down 7-5. Than Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton hit Back 2 Back Homers to make it 8-7. Bottom of the 9th. In the Bottom of the 9th with 1 Out. Seby Zavala is on 1st Base. Zack Britton throws his first pitch to Anderson. BOOM. He hits a 2 Run homer into the corn. And last but not least. DAAAAAAAAAAAAA JANKEES LOSE!!!!!

I remember watching this game while I was on vacation. It was epic. I had told my family in the bottom of the ninth that one guy needed to get on and then Tim Anderson would hit a walk off homer. Potentially the greatest home run call of my life. Game was back and forth with comebacks from both sides and intense late. Incredible.

Kevin Costner closed out his introduction asking the thousands of fans in attendence "is this heaven?"

I remember when this idea was announced. The main thought I had was “Fantastic idea! Hopefully the game itself is good.” It was so much better than good. It was amazing. Watching Judge and the other players walk out of the cornfields was beautiful, and the game we got was so fitting for the location. It seemed like the White Sox were going to run away with it at first. Sure, Judge was scary as ever, but the White Sox's best players were performing and building a lead. By the time we entered the 9th inning, it felt inevitable. Then Judge hit his 2nd home run, Gallo got the rare non-strikeout, and Giancarlo hit his own home run to give New York the lead. I imagine Shoeless Joe watched that Stanton home run with a subtle frown, only to bring back a subtle smile when Tim Anderson, wearing the jersey he used to wear, smacked the first pitch into the corn fields and walked it off with a 2-run homer. It was a cinematic ending for a game that felt like a dream. Fitting for the Field of Dreams.

The one thing that baseball has over the Big Four is pageantry. The uniforms, the routines, the unwritten rules. To bring this idea to life and then have it play out the way it did is why sports can feel like magic. I felt like a little kid watching the giants Judge and Stanton slug moonshots into the corn to bring them all the way back. Then Tim Anderson just cracks one and caps a 6 run ninth inning to walk it off. Surreal game. Why they haven't done it every year since is beyond me. This one will be all but impossible to top but who cares, I'll be watching!

I love special occasion games. I have an obsession in collecting jerseys for said special edition jerseys. For example I have 4 outdoor hockey jerseys that I really cherish, and a WBC jersey in my collection. With the field of dreams coming back as of August 13, 2026 (today) it was great that this was the throwback game. What a banger, home runs after home runs, comeback after a failed comeback, this game was just so fun. Can’t believe at one time Tim Anderson was considered a great baseball player. Sad that he fell off after getting the Sonic rings knocked out of him. I can’t wait for tonight’s game

As a Yankees fan, it sucked that we lost this game and I remember being devastated after it happened. Judge and Giancarlo each homered in the ninth and each were incredible as the Yankees came back to lead and I thought they had it. Tim Anderson had other ideas and Zack Britton blew the save. Looking back, I truly think the White Sox were destined to win this game as there’s something about those cornfields. One of the best regular season MLB games.

One of the best MLB games I've ever watched and a perfect Throwback Thursday with the Field of Dreams game today and coincidentally Tim Anderson retiring a couple days ago. Tim Anderson will be remembered for 2 things. One, getting his shit rocked by Jose Ramirez. And two, walking off the Yankees in the first ever Field of Dreams game to win 9-8 in one of the wildest games in recent MLB history. Whenever the Yankees play one of these special games it's always got explosive offense. In 2019 in London, they beat the Red Sox 17-13 and 12-8. Of course I didn't enjoy that series because the Red Sox got swept by the Yankees, but if I was watching those games with my Sox not getting destroyed, it would've been awesome. Great to see the other Sox do their thing in this game, and Tim Anderson to create a defining positive moment in his career. And of course, DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA JANKEES LOSE

This was unbelievable to watch replays of. I remember watching this live and thinking this couldn't be real. Far and away one of the coolest atmospheres in all of sports. Rose Bowl, The Garden, and The Field of Dreams. To have this atmosphere was already enough but then these 2 teams decided to have Home Run Derby during the game including a walk off by Tim "Down Goes Anderson" Anderson to win it for the White Sox... one of the better baseball games I have ever seen with my own 2 eyes.

such a fun concept that the MLB absolutely nailed from the beginning. the whole presentation of this game was perfect to a degree where it honestly didn't even matter if the game was bad. fortunately, the game was awesome and we got a 6 run 9th inning ending on a walkoff for the white sox. i dream of a sandlot version of this one day but for now this is good enough.
