I was really hoping for a great pitching duel between 2 young studs. Cade pitched well, but Skenes did not. One of the rare times he wasn’t the picture of dominance. Just the 6th game all season he’s given up 3 earned runs in a start. But credit to the Cubs, they pounced on Skenes early and made his night VERY difficult. Pirates bullpen was very impressive but that doesn’t matter when you can’t get runs yourself.
