Watched
Rangers fell just short of a comeback in an important game with playoff implications. The Rangers rallied for 4 runs with two outs in the 8th before failing to score with two runners on in the 9th. The Astros are a half game ahead of the Red Sox for the 5 seed, and the Rangers are 3.5 games out of a Wild Card spot with 10 games remaining.

Holy cow, going into the 8th inning, I was ready to give this game a 2 or 3 as it looked like an easy Astros win. But it’s amazing how easily baseball games can swing the other way as the Rangers almost scraped out a comeback. Sadly, the Astros held on and this game may have pushed the Rangers out of playoff contention permanently, barring a losing streak for one of the AL Wildcard teams. Astros pounced early thanks to Pena and Altuve especially and the Rangers relied on Hagashioka, Jung and even Adolis for their hits. Crazy stuff.
