Athletics sufficiently silence Houston, much to Detroit’s delight. It was a 3 headed monster for the Athletics. First, Luis Severino. 6 innings of shutout ball while only allowing 3 hits should make any team happy and continues his wonderful splits against the Astros. Next, Shane Langeliers. 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs, including a double and a homer. Finally, Soderstrom, who not only broke this game open by getting the first and what ended up being the winning run, but also adding some extra insurance in the 7th. Meanwhile, the Astros were basically silent until the 9th when it looked like they had a chance, until that was snuffed out just as quickly as it came.
