LETS GOOO! I only saw the end, I started a real life job today. Skubal is the best pitcher in the world. Absolutely unreal, and we turned the Cleveland voodoo magic against itself. They made errors and we caught them running the bases poorly. 1-0 in the WC is HUGE. GO TIGS

Very gritty game and a great way to kick off the playoffs. Having an elite starter can be the X-factor of a playoff series, especially the wildcard round and Skubal made his start count. Absolutely dominant as he tied the Tigers record for strikeouts in a playoff game. But the Guardians kept it close. Close enough to attempt a comeback. But thanks to some clutch defense and costly baserunning, the Tigers hung on for the dub. Now they’ll have to win a game without Skubal’s dominance.

Pitching duel. Both offenses were non existent. Both Tigers runs were unearned. The Guardians got one run off of Skubal on an infield hit, a walk, and another infield hit. The Guardians had a runner on third in the 9th with none out (Jose Ramirez got to third on a low throw where the pick was missed and then the ball ricocheted off Ramirez). Then he got thrown out on a batters fielders choice running towards home on a chopper to the pitcher. Not ideal for Guardians fans right now but they do have home field advantage and now Skubal can’t pitch the rest of the series (unless they need him for an inning of relief which I doubt).
