Started out electric but became a grind after that. This game is a true testament to the Mariners pitching depth. Just two days after their marathon victory against the Tigers, they still found pitchers capable of shutting down a Jays lineup that was on fire. Bryce Miller was rock solid after giving up a quick Springer homer while the Mariners relievers were basically perfect as Seattle takes game 1. Speaking of things carried over from the Tigers series, Jorge fucking Polanco continues his clutch hitting as he drives in 2 runs including the winning run. If the Mariners keep this up as their bullpen gets rested, they can make their first ever World Series.

I don’t know how the hell mariners mustered enough strength to win this game but oh my god i will give everything i own to bryce miller after this game. Game was pretty eh in innings 2-5, though miller and gausman exchanging quick innings was fun, but afterwards the game really came alive with Cal’s homer and the bullpen took it home with 24 pitches in 3 innings. Insanity.

Bryce Miller had one job and that was to give the Mariners 5 passable innings. He ends up shutting the blue jays out after getting ambushed by the greatest postseason hitter of our generation on the first pitch.
One of those performances that’s going to get a feature in the doc.

Surprisingly little offense. The Blue Jays couldn’t produce any offense after the first pitch they saw (George Springer solo homer). Cal Raleigh tied it on a homer and then Jorge Polanco hit a go ahead single and then another RBI single for insurance. He is becoming a Mariners postseason legend.
