Max Scherzer was the story early on. At 40 years old and making his 500th career start, he looked like the old “Mad Max” again. You could see how badly he wanted this one — barking into his glove after strikeouts, arguing to stay in the game when John Schneider came out for a mound visit in the fifth. He gave the Jays nearly six innings, only allowing two runs, and the bullpen handled the rest without much drama. Seattle actually struck first — Josh Naylor ripped a solo shot in the second inning, and for a moment, it felt like the crowd might carry them. But Toronto answered right back. Andrés Giménez crushed a two-run homer off Luis Castillo in the third, and from there, the Blue Jays’ offense just didn’t let up. Guerrero Jr. added his fifth homer of the postseason, and by the time Giménez punched in another two runs in the eighth, you could feel the air leave T-Mobile Park. (2nd part in commmmmmmmmmmmmmments)

MAX. YOU WILL FOREVER BE A BLUE JAY.
WHAT. A. START.
Every possible thing was against you and you dominated. The only positive i could see pregame for you was “he’s mad max”, and you showed why that’s all you needed to ABSOLUTELY SCHOOL THE MARINERS.
also shoutout to my favourite defence-first gimenez for his second 2 run hr in 2 days to erase a deficit in the second inning.

Home field advantage doesn’t mean shit! That’s been the motto of this series so far as the Blue Jays emphatically tie up the series with another dominant performance where they just peppered the ever loving shit out of the Mariners starter. That starter that got shelled was Luis Castillo wasn’t as dreadful as George Kirby, but it was very shaky. Mariners took him out early and the Jays proceeded to pounce on the bullpen and run up the score once again, just not as much as game 3. Scherzer was rock solid for Toronto as he recaptured his prime. And once again, Giménez got the party started for Toronto once again! For a guy that is 9th in the lineup, back-to-back homers is nut, let alone back-to-back homers that get the Jays their first runs of the game. The championship series have been night and day. The NLCS looks dead while this series has been flipped on its head and given new life.

The road team has won all four games in the series so far. For the second straight game the Mariners take the early lead and just like yesterday the Blue Jays dominate the game after that. The series is 2-2 going back to Toronto which might actually be a bad thing for the Blue Jays with how the series has gone.
