Ironically it started with the most valuable player of the first leg making the game’s first major mistake as Neuer set up Arda Güler for Madrid’s first goal of the tie, exactly the kind of momentum boost they needed to kick this off. Although Bayern remained the better team after that and Pavlocic found the equalizer off a PERFECT corner delivery from Kimmich. Madrid refused to back down and Güler’s magnificent free kick found the back of the net. Still, Bayern was in total control, it felt inevitable they would score again and Kane did exactly that, only for Mbappé to match it almost immediately. The 2nd half was much more even, but with less goals until Luis Diaz gave Bayern the lead and Olise sealed it with a wonderful curling finish, partially thanks to Camavainga getting sent off just before those last 2 goals.
