Phillies Break an All-Time Milestone
After Hunter Goodman hit a single into center field during the first inning of today’s game, the Philadelphia Phillies became the first MLB team to allow 200,000 hits.
Robin Roberts holds the franchise record for allowing the most hits, with 3,661 knocks coming off his pitches. The team holds the lowest ERA+ amongst all current MLB clubs at 96.
The Phillies were also the first team to reach 10,000 and 11,000 losses, despite playing less games in their history than the Cubs, Braves, Reds, Cardinals, Pirates, and Giants.
They allowed five additional hits earlier today, bringing the team’s total allowed hits to 200,005.
