Messick was brilliant, again, but the offense squandered their opportunity today. I get that Vogt likes to have a platoon advantage but I kinda wish he let Fry have that AB at the end of the game over a guy coming off the bench cold like Valera. Regardless, I think Gaddis needs to not pitch in high leverage for a bit because he allowed 4 hard hit balls today while Messick had 1, obvs unfair comparisons but I’m gonna push this agenda until further notice.

Messick pitched very well yet again. Struck out the first four batters to start the game. I was a little surprised to see him pulled in the 6th just one out shy of a quality start. 95 pitches I guess, but would’ve liked to see one more out. Not much for offense as Aranda went deep for the Rays.
