Cardinals vs Padres Did You Know & Fan Stories

    • Fernando Tatis Jr Now has Negative 1 Home Runs this Season

Fernando Tatis Jr has been struggling big time to start this season. San DIego is 22-16 to start the season, but none of that has been because of Fernando Tatis Jr. He's hitting .248 and has yet to hit a home run this season. Alongside that, he hasn't been great in the field. The Padres have moved him to second base in hopes of that lighting a spark under him, and while he's been solid there, the production at the plate hasn't shown yet. And in last night's 6-0 loss to St. Louis, he may have hit rock bottom. In the 5th inning, tied 0-0, JJ Wetherholt snuck a hit between the first and second basemen. One run easily scored, but with the ball getting to Tatis quickly, it looked like he would have a chance to gun down the second runner at home. Instead, he completely missed it. The ball rolled by him and all 4 runners scored. I love Tatis and I really hope he turns it around, but it has been a very rough start to his season even on a very good Padres team. If he starts playing like himself again, they can be a World Series contender.
