Obviously not as good as that Monday night thriller but a great win for the A's here to get the series win in their first series at Las Vegas Ballpark. Good to see they're giving their fans a nice welcome, although we all know it will not be sustained. Lawrence Butler with a huge two run blast, he hasn't lived up to expectations the past couple years, maybe the new ballpark, which in it's young career is looking VERY hitter friendly, can turn things around for Butler. Carlos Cortes also went yard, he's had a very successful rookie season so far. Obviously, all the rookie talent is looked at guys like Payton Tolle, Kevin McGonigle, Chase DeLauter, and Munetaka Murakami, but Cortes has been very solid as well. Not close to Rookie of the Year race, but looking like he might be a valuable piece of the A's future, at least for 6 years until John Fisher lets him walk in free agency.
