Absolute belt. That 5th inning was great. 3 straight doubles off the Monster. Abreu, Ceddanne, and WC-40 all went yard. Just a great win. Sonny Gray had a rare game today where his strikeout stuff looked great-not a disrespect to him. All year he's been great even without striking guys out, and he was even more dominant today when his strikeout stuff was on. 4 straight 1-2-3 innings from him. All positives in this game.

I hated allllll of that. I couldn’t even enjoy the Rangers 1st inning rally because the Red Sox immediately matched it in the bottom of the 1st after 4 batters and took the lead at the end of 1st after Willson Contreras hit a bomb. After 3 innings of nothing from the Texas bats, Boston blew this game open with a 4-run 5th inning and it only got worse as the game went on. We even got to witness some errors just to make the watching experience even more frustration for me. Leiter had a very rough day which was brutal to watch on its own, but watching us trudge out the bullpen to struggle as well made it even worse. I honestly wish we just threw Joc at pitcher for the 7th and 8th, not like he would’ve been much worse. My anger aside, the Red Sox bats had a tremendous day and Sonny Gray threw 6 innings of 1 run ball. Rafaela, Abreu and Contreras combined for 9 hits, 8 RBIs and 23 total bases. Blegh. Just when we were finally getting some momentum this season. Please don’t let this continue
