Fun little pitchers duel to watch. Gage Jump 5 shutout, he's looked solid in his young career. The fake Max Muncy went yard for the first run in this game.
On the Giants side, Jung Hoo Lee made an incredible catch to end the 9th and keep them alive for Rafael Devers to hit a leadoff home run. Man I miss Raffy. And then Victor Bericoto said good night! Terrible loss for the A's. The pitching NEEDS to improve.
In a terrible AL West where only the Mariners (41-40) are over .500, and the A's are only 2 games back, this is a team that could make some noise in the playoff race especially if Nick Kurtz stays hot and guys like Henry Bolte and the fake Max Muncy can continue to make an impact. Trade for a couple starters at the deadline and I could see the A's playing in the playoffs.
And then my favorite part of this game (bumped the rating up an entire point cuz of how funny it was), Jonah Heim came in to play third base!

If there is a partially attended button, I think I would be the only one to use it. But I was able to get to this game after someone gave away his tickets cuz he got called into work... I was already walking to the Valks game when i got these, so i gladly took these tickets, and I'm glad I did. While simoltaneously watching the Mex-Cze and Rsa-Kor games on splitscreen, the unthinkable happened. I'm closing in on my 500th game, and FINALLY I snagged my first every foul ball. Now look, I GIVE AWAY my balls, and I know it's so selfish, and I do apologize but I really wanted to keep the ball. It's my first foul ball after all, and for someone who goes to all of these games, it meant a lot to me. As for the game, nothing much really happened while I was there as I had to leave early... but I did see a cool tag out at home. After I left, the A's got the breakthrough in the 8th before yet another bullpen collapse in the 9th led to a Giants win off two solo home runs, one by Bericoto!
