Good performance by Nathan Eovaldi in this one. 5 innings, 3 runs, 9 strikeouts. He just continues to be a solid, consistent pitcher. 8-7, 3.95 ERA, and 101 strikeouts. Every year he's just a solid pitcher, with the Red Sox continuing to develop an elite pitching staff, Eovaldi seems like a much less devastating loss to the staff.
On the other hand, Framber Valdez just continues to fall off. 5 innings pitched, 5 runs allowed. Ever since that no hitter in 2023, he has just fallen off. And I really don't see him recovering. He has the talent, but he doesn't have the composure to be a great MLB pitcher.
