Great win. Got it started in the 2nd inning with Monasterio and Ceddanne homering. Good to see the offense getting started early in the game, and then of course they do their normal thing of getting a huge rally in the 9th inning to make the game look like a blowout.
Payton Tolle needed this good start. Tough outing last time against the Nationals, but today 6 innings shutout with only 2 hits allowed, and after some hot water for the bullpen from Danny Coulombe, Justin Slaten gets us out of it. I originally liked the Coulombe signing, thought he was a good lefty reliever to get after Gregory Soto went elsewhere, but he's been terrible.
Overall thought a great win, and that's now 4 straight wins to start the road trip. They got hot around the All-Star break last year, are they doing it again this year? Honestly though, I'd prefer they miss the playoffs this year, if they make the -playoffs they won't go anywhere and missing the playoffs would be a higher likelihood Craig gets fired.

well i did not expect this in my opinon the White Sox have been the darlings of the MLB with a above 500 record so far! and a great story in peters and having a beloved player like Munekami helps. but on the Red Sox side its been misrable over in Fenway everyone hates the owner and the GM and they are most likely going into a rebuild. But i belive they have won 4 in a row congrats Mr Jacksauer

Shultz started the game rough which in my opinion killed the offense. Bullpen also plays like trash. Could have been even worse if Kyle Teel didn’t throw out the 2 guys at 2nd, and if Antonacci didn’t go 3-4. Also the base umps killed us in that top of the ninth. Pointed foul when it went down the line and then pointed fair? Down the left field line then next batter went down the right field line. We just can’t win atp. We need to play extremely well to win this series. We did get bases loaded and scored, but then we strand the runners on the corners when we actually started to gain momentum.

And just like that, the Sox aren’t the worst team in the east. Hitting was great tonight, something I can rarely say until recently. Monasterio and cedanne with big home runs in the second inning, which set us up for this victory, along with some late game fair balls (I still don’t know how that umpire mixed up his left and right directions!) that turned into runs.
Payton tolle is a great pitcher, six scoreless innings. Definitely a bounce back from his start vs washington. He is my second favorite pitcher on the staff, behind Bennett. This game increases my optimism about the team’s season, though it makes me concerned that if we continue winning, breslow might stay in Boston. I am a firm believer that this team can end the season over .500, but we will just have to wait and see what ends up happening.
