Very fun game to watch. Nathan Eovaldi was great through his first 6 innings of work, only allowing 1 run and setting the Rangers up with a 6-1 lead thanks to some offensive help. However, he started to unravel in the 6th, and the Angels pounced with hit after hit after hit for 5 runs in the 6th to tie it 6-6, unfortunately ended by The Closer legend and 1x thumbnail appearer Denzer Guzman. After Tyler Alexander got them out of that inning, Jacob Latz pitched a great 8th and most of the 9th, finished off by Cole Winn. A very tough day for Wyatt Langford for the first 8 innings, but he 100% made up for it in the 9th with a walkoff hit to give the Rangers a well-fought-for victory. This keeps the 47-46 Rangers half a game atop a very weak AL West, just ahead of the Mariners. I do think that Cal Raleigh will be able to turn it around in Seattle and their pitching can lead them to a division win, but a Wild Card spot is well up for grabs in a very weak American League.

I just watched this team blow an Eovaldi masterclass and for some reason he was left in the 7th inning, regardless of that, the bullpen proceeded to then blow a 6-1 lead. But hey thank you Wyatt Langford.

This one got dicey, but we regrouped and got an awesome feel-good moment. At first, this looked like a Nathan Eovaldi masterpiece. Yeah, the 3rd was unfortunate, but Eovaldi wasn’t giving up any hard contact and hitters were missing the ball much more often than they were hitting it. Combine that with Texas’s rallies and I felt good about this one. Then the 7th happened. It started out with an omen, catchers interference. I don’t like saying 1 moment changed the game, but it felt like that changed everything. The Angels started a rally on Eovaldi and kept it up when we took him out. Eventually they tied it up, much to my dismay. Thankfully, for the sake of my sanity, the bullpen figured their shit out and the batters set up Langford in the perfect situation. Bottom of the 9th, tied game, runner on 2nd. Despite struggling all day, he blasted a hit to left field for a walk off in his first game back from injury. The road to get there started fun, got tumultuous before giving me relief.

I'll always be a Wyatt believer, but holy shit this did not need to be this hard. It's so extremely hard to trust this team, but at least I know Wyatt has some clutch in him. A win is a win I guess, and back into 1st in the AL West

Good on the Angels for actually making the comeback, but they had a chance to grab the lead in the top of the 9th. They were unable to grab it and they were punished by the Rangers walking it off to take this series. At least we still have the season series over the Rangers lol
