Watched this with one of my friends at camp who's a Cubs fan. Had it up on mlb.com and when I left the room he of course decided to go look up some stupid shit so now my search history is fried. thanks for that 😭
Anyways, great win for the Tigers, Alex Bregman failed to come up clutch as he has all year long. Of course the reason he's not on the Sox is because John Henry didn't want to spend the money, but in this case it worked out, Durbin's been red hot lately. Same situation at first base, if Henry was willing to spend money, Pete Alonso would be at first base, but in that situation we lucked out and got Willson Contreras instead.

The only way this isn’t a 10/10 is because it was in the regular season. If this was a playoff game it would’ve been the most perfect game in baseball history.
I can’t even explain what I just watched. Anything that could happen in a ball game happened.
Quick Recap: Riley 3 run shot, Ding solo shot. Good Jack. Bad Jack. Suzuki 2 run dong and Busch (?) solo shot back 2 back. Jack pulled and butter bean and Wague burger lock it down. Cubs starter locks it in and the bullpen dominates. Ding and Gleyber throw out Suzuki at second on one of the most impressive back picks I’ve ever seen. Ding solo shot x2. Happ(?) 2 run bomb. Enter Jansen in the ninth. Double, sac fly, IBB for PCA, Walk the bases loaded, 3-2 count K, 3-2 count K on Bregman. Extra innings and the Tigers unloaded after Riley’s 109 shot hits the pitcher. Kerry gets hurt (suprise surprise), boys put up a 3 spot. Cubs try to make it interesting but Holton strands the tying run on 1st.
I’ve never experienced such a game………..

That four run first inning was so helpful for Flare, the Tigers had some many base runners in this one. The game typing home run by Happ had so much aura tbh. And, OH BABY that 9th was tense but the Tigs got out of it and Spencer freaking torkelson got a hit with the bases loaded to put it away 😱 shout-out to Ding for just being his usual dawg self

Crazy game at Wrigley, definitely a good one if you love offense… not so much pitching. Per usual the Tigers bullpen did its best to blow a late-inning lead (I know he didn’t technically give up a run, but for the love of God please stop pitching Kenley Jansen in high-leverage situations), but unusually they were able to put together an effective extra-inning effort. Solid win to start the series. Regardless, TRADE SKUBAL!
