That ends the 9 game win streak. Sox gave us a ton of hope late, entering the bottom of the 9th down 7-2. but scoring a run and then loading the bases with 2 outs, Eli White got it to a 3-1 count, but flew out to end it. Not Jake Bennett's best outing, 4 runs in 5 and a third. Of course can't win them all, but with the Yankees win today they are now a game and a half ahead of us. Raymond Burgos 🍔 looked solid again, not as good as yesterday, but 3 decent innings holding the A's to 2 runs. Certainly much better having him on the team than Greg Weissert.

What a day. JAAAAA DANKEES WIN and DAAAAAAAAA RED SOX LOSE. Sox fans have been hopeful for a while now. Someday they'll get there. I swear if the sox win a game and all they need is the Yankees to lose it isn't gonna happen. Its the bottom of the ninth the yankees have 2 outs and they're gonna turn into the 1927 jankees. The Red Sox might be cooked.

I like the aggressive small ball the Sox are playing. I think that’s a core piece of their offensive resurgence: it also allows everyone to feel like they have a real chance of advancing at any moment.
Bennett started really strong but just seemed to have every AB extended too long, culminating in a 12-pitcher to Butler in the 6th. He still has some developing to do, but a lot to be excited about with him.
Butler’s got some flash that I like and has made some really smart plays, both at the plate and on the bases. Someone to keep an eye on.
Duran’s plat discipline problem feels very similar to the one that Rafaella has been exorcising. If Roman comes back to LF it may be a bad situation for him.
The Durbin-Contreras connection is so fun to watch.
“It’s only 4 runs” is not something I thought I’d be thinking, especially starting the season 1-18 when down by 2. That rally at the end really had me believing.
Need to keep the foot on the gas to finish out the season.
