We got a great extra innings game to go along with a couple very notable pitching milestones, hard to be mad at that.
The first and much less notable milestone was Aaron Nola reaching 2000 strikeouts, making him the 8th active pitcher to do so. A testament to his durability, ironic since he left this game with an injury. But of course, everyone will remember Max Scherzer officially claiming his spot in the top 10 for career strikeouts. Hopefully he won’t be the last to ever make it into that exclusive club, but it’s always cool to see someone reach that height. Especially since he achieved it against Kyle Schwarber of all people.
As for the game itself, it started off looking like the Vladdy bounce back game, then became a Lukes legacy game. Vladdy scored the first runs to give Toronto a lead only to watch the pitching staff blow it. Giménez dragged the Blue Jays back into the game which gave us extras where they went back and forth before Lukes blasted the game winning 2-run homer.

Speaking of old asses – Max Scherzer claws his way into the top ten career strikeouts list. It's very possible this is the last time that list will ever change, and I'm glad it happened with this team and that I was able to see it.
Full count two-outs in the eleventh and my guy Nathan Lukes nails a two-run homer. What a fuckin rockstar he has been

Just watched Canada destroy the USA 8-1 in U18 hockey gold medal game. Obviously I had the blue jays on my phone in the arena. 11 innings and Nathan Lukes becoming a hero of mine after tonight. Scherzer joining a list that he might be the last ever to join was cool to witness.
