The Brewers complete the comeback in a turn of events that is both stunning and totally expected thanks to a single decision.
Either Dave Roberts hates Edwin Diaz or the entire Dodgers team LOVES Diaz. I have no other explanation for why they keep putting him in these save opportunities just to watch him flounder. Yes, he used to be elite, but how many more times do you gotta watch him give up multiple runs in an inning before you admit he’s not the same guy anymore.
Whatever it is, it gave us an epic 9th inning comeback and made the bottom of the 9th completely satisfying for non- Dodgers fans. Max Muncy appeared to be the hero once again only for the Brewers to steal this game at the death. Admittedly I think the 9th inning really carries this game because in hindsight, the Dodgers were kinda lucky they were winning. Aside from Muncy’s home run, the only other extra base hit was an Ohtani lead off double that led to nothing. Hence why this game is paradoxically surprising and not.

The Brewers come back from the dead and steal one from the Dodgers! This game got off to a great start for Milwaukee with a pair of bases loaded walks in the fourth, but they couldn’t score more and they would lose that lead very quickly! Ben Rortvedt would cut the deficit in half with a run scoring hit in the fifth, and Max Muncy would give Los Angeles the lead with a three run bomb in the sixth! The Brewers looked down and out for most of the game after this, but they found a bit of life in the ninth! They were able to rally off of Edwin Diaz to tie it and eventually take the lead with three runs in the final inning! Trevor Megill would lock it down in the bottom of the ninth for the save as the Brewers bounce back big from that disastrous series in San Diego!
