Another Cubs walk off! Man this Chicago series has been amazing so far! We had an epic all-timer yesterday and now we got another great one tonight. The only downside was the rain delay near the end. Kinda killed some of the tensions. Fortunately the Cubs walk off victory made up for it, mostly.
Prior to the rain delay it started off just like the last one. Cubs started off strong in the first with a clean top and a PCA home run in the bottom. The only difference this time was Busch also hit a home run. Then the White Sox gradually took their own lead over the next few innings. Seemed like the South Side was going to take this game with the help of many slaps of the bat and the solidity of Erick Fedde. Then a new hero emerged from the Cubs’ ludicrously stacked infield, Alex Bregman. With PCA stopped in his tracks, it was Bregman who drove in the tying run before returning from the rain delay to drive in the winning run. Not quite as fantastic as the first game, but still really good.

This was a very fun walk off win the second night in a row for the Cubs, but that rain delay took a lot of wind out of its sails. PCA and Michael Busch hit homers in the first inning to give the Cubs a lead that wouldn’t last long at all as the White Sox had it tied on a Munetaka Murakami bomb in the fourth! The South Side took the soon after on a Tristan Peters double and they held that lead for most of the rest of this matchup, but the Cubs were able to fight back! Alex Bregman tied it in the seventh, and it looked like this game was setup for an awesome finish! Unfortunately, a giant rain delay stopped everything for a long time. This game lost a lot of momentum because of that, but the Cubs were able to recover and walk it off on another Bregman RBI hit! I just wish this game wasn’t stopped for so long right at the end
