This was already not a great game even if the Angels won, but they choked so unbelievably hard! The offense did nothing all night, and the pitching allowed a ton of runners on. Thankfully the Rangers never scored in the first nine innings so this game would need extras. The Halos looked good thanks to a Denzer Guzman double right away in the tenth to give the Angels the lead! They failed to score again, but they still had Joyce coming in to close this game out! He got two outs and Texas was down to their last strike when the 0-2 pitch just caught too much of the zone as Langford is able to fight it off to tie this game. It looked like the Angels were going to get out of this inning and send this to the eleventh when Guzman made a great diving stop! This is where they really sold though because instead of just getting the easy out at first that he had plenty of time to get, he decided to throw to second where he would miss and throw it into the outfield. The Halos need to finish 12-21

I find myself using 2 backhanded phrases after this game. Better late than never and they don’t ask you how, they ask you how many. Another game where our pitching is dynamite only for our hitters to screw the pooch, except it’s even worse than the DeGrom game because our hitters couldn’t figure out their shit until extras. It’s like they procrastinated until the Angels scored and they realized runs are important now. I feel bad for Mackenzie Gore. That guy has had his ups and downs and was so close to watching his best start of the season get wasted. Then the bullpen came in and shoved.
This game has all the makings of a green rating, but even the win didn’t feel satisfying. Angels scored immediately off a single from Guzman, meaning Texas needed to score a run to tie it up. Just when it looked like we were screwed, Langford clutched up with an RBI double and then one of our 3 good hitters, Duran, hit the ball to Guzman who threw it away and gifted the Rangers with a win. Good lord.
