I’m shocked this was close for as long as it was. In some ways that made it more painful. We were on the cusp of tying it up until the very end despite having no business even having a chance. Coby Bradford got the start tonight and he continued his trend of “shaky-average”. It started off incredibly poorly, but he managed to work through it and put up a solid performance after giving up 2 runs in the 1st without striking anyone out. Whatever works.
The bullpen came in and did fine until Macko couldn’t buy an out, as one of the Brewers commentators said. Not like he wasn’t pitching well, balls just kept getting weakly hit past the fielders. Speaking of those fielders, my god. We are picking the worst time to go back to forgetting how to hit. After a White Sox series where our batters were not our weakness for once, I was reminded why I have rued 75% of our lineup all season long. Besides a Jansen home run that broke up a perfect Logan Henderson outing, we couldn’t get a damn thing.
