Washington could not hang on. Both teams pitching was pretty good but the Nats late inning relievers are very bad. Fish win.

At least the Marlins chose the right inning to score all their runs today lol. Thankfully the Nationals don’t enjoy the late innings with their bullpen issues.

6 run ninth for the comeback! They load the bases with only 1 out, Marsee takes a hit by pitch and then just a complete fielding collapse. What should've been a simple sac fly to get the 2nd out, albeit tying the game, a bad choke on its own, ends with the throw into the infield rolling into the dugout for the Marlins lead, and then Tom Cosgrove completely misplays an early jump on a double steal allowing the Marlins 4th run of the inning to score. Then Otto Lopez goes yard to add the cherry on top. Maybe the worst collapse of the season came from the Washington Nationals today. Just horrible defensive play and mental errors than cannot happen in late August. The Nationals are so talented but games like these are exactly why they aren't in the Wild Card hunt.
