Yet another good pitching performance that was wasted by the Angels. Zack Wheeler and Yusei Kikuchi were almost identical today as they both gave up one run on four hits through six innings, but Kikuchi came back out for the seventh. He would give up a go-ahead homer to Edmundo Sosa, and it was all downhill from there. The Phillies put up three in the eighth for a ton of insurance. The Angels never came close to recovering even though Trout did double to knock in a run in the ninth. The Halos never cease to disappoint as they lose their 7th striaght. They need to finish the season 11-14

Zack Wheeler with his first win since July and it's the 7th straight loss for the Angels. Edmundo Sosa with a huge go ahead homer in the 7th and it was all Phillies from there. Rough year for Yusei Kikuchi, 0-5 with a 5.65 ERA. This win gets the Phillies within half a game of the Cubs and it looks like its bound to be tied the way this Cubs-Reds game is going, and having their Wild Card series at home is such a different series from if they had it on the road. That Red October atmosphere is incredible and so difficult to play in for a visiting team.
