Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: “Italy avoids disaster and does not blow it even though it certainly looked like they were ready to. The Italians looked incapable of generating good chances in the 1st half. They looked like they desperately missed the technique and creativity of someone like Chiesa. Something had to give. Early in the 2nd half, Italy had a wide open chance, only for Retegui to be far too slow to actually capitalize on it. Luckily, that blown opportunity seems to have awoken something in the Italians. It led to a barrage of chances, culminating with Tonali finally breaking the deadlock. Italy finally continued to get their chances and Kean doubled their lead shortly after. Their frequency of chances cooled down after that, but Northern Ireland couldn’t generate anything substantial so it didn’t matter. Italy moves on and keeps their World Cup hopes alive. Tonali and Kean obviously scored the goals and Tonalia even got an assist. Besides them, Barella continued to prove he is underrated.”
