Spent my afternoon with my little siblings watching "Guitar vs Swissland". Apparently Swissland is named after the cheese. Learned some amazing facts this afternoon. They got excited to see Switzerland take a shot, only for me to unfortunately break the news that the shot missed. I'm the party pooper I guess 🤷♂️
From my perspective, that header goal was absolutely incredible. Ruined it for my brother, he was rooting for Swissland. Incredible job by Qatar though. Everyone expected them to be destroyed by Switzerland, coming out with a draw is a shock to everyone. After 1 game apeice, Group B is all square at 1 point for everyone.
Even just this draw meant so much to Qatar. Absolutely beautiful to see.

I was so ready to rate this game in the red, but I can’t possibly do that to a game that ended on a last minute goal that creates an upset (a draw) and that involves a legendary goalkeeping performance. For 95 minutes, this game wasn’t fun (aside from reveling in Qatar losing). It was one-sided, but it didn’t have the drama and animosity of Mexico-South Africa nor the aesthetic appeal of USA-Paraguay. It was the first genuinely bad game of the tournament… until the final minute.
Qatar looked dead and buried. Their best chance only came in the literal first minutes because of sloppy play from the Swiss defence. But luckily, they had 2 factors in their favour. First, Switzerland’s terrible finishing. Not even national team legend Breel Embolo who only scored because of a penalty that may have been offside, could figure it out. More importantly, they had a wall in their goal. Mahmoud Abunada will be in football lore forever as the one who gave his nation their first ever World Cup point.

What a freaking weird game. Qatar had one of the worst attacks I’ve seen since the 2022 World Cup by the same damn team. If I’m Switzerland this is utterly humiliating. They were DOMINATING the entire game. Chance after chance after chance for Switzerland and they never got it done. Truly incredible. I never thought this was going to tie. I mean Qatar is ASS! ASS! I’m not even going to try to spell Qatars goalies name but that man was absolutely incredible. 10000000% he is player of the game. Big save after big save, he was turning everything aside. Against all odds, Qatar scored in the 95th minute to tie this game up one to one. Imagine if that penalty was offside and Qatar won this game… I’d pass out. 3 more games to go let’s keep it moving! World Cup Saturday continues!

Chocolate and cheese, the Swiss fumble with ease. No but like seriously what the hell just happened? Switzerland was in control that entire game but then Qatar scored at the last second and forced a draw. Mind you by expected goals this should have been 3-1 or even 3-0. If Switzerland Qatar was THIS hype, I can't wait for Brazil-Morocco.

Wow wow wow wow. The Qatar Goalkeeper is now a national hero. Looked like the Swiss had the game on lock but no in the dying minutes of stoppage time Qatar scores a brilliant header easily the best game of the tournament so far.. I’m starting to fall in love with Football

Mostly boring game that the Swiss dominated for 93 minutes until Qatar got an extra time header which was fun. But holy hell the sense of urgency after that goal for both teams but especially Qatar was ridiculous. I understand you are probably just happy with a draw and a point but you have some momentum there and should try and capitalize off of it. God just hair pulling
