Certainly a solid game here. Egypt started the scoring. Ashour scored an absolute beauty of a goal in the first half to make it 1-0. Belgium struck back in the second on a ball set up by Lukaku for an unfortunate own goal by Mohamed Hany. I predicted this one to end 1-1, so I certainly wasn't at all surprised by this result. Courtouis played like the elite goalkeeper he is, that goal by Egypt was just an absolutely beautiful strike. I think both of these teams take down Iran and New Zealand pretty easily to continue their World Cup journies into the knockout stages.

Just an okay game. Close, but nothing special that will make it stand out in my mind. That is both good and bad. It appears the Belgian Golden Generation isn’t done disappointing, even with modest expectations this time around. Salah finally made his World Cup debut in his 34th birthday and he gets a pretty nice birthday present, a draw. Not exactly what he wanted, but he’ll probably take it. Egypt was the superior team throughout and could’ve easily walked away with a win if not for some bad luck. Salah made his presence known, but he wasn’t the star. That honour goes to Ashour. He placed a shot just out of the reach of Courtois to open the scoring for Egypt. He and the rest of the midfield dictated pace and it wasn’t until the 2nd half that Belgium looked threatening. Lukaku’s presence helped tie this one up and neither team really got a great chance after that. Egypt also did a tremendous job shutting down Doku and Belgium’s wing play in general. Good sign for Egypt, bad for Belgium

A very fair draw. Both teams had their chances. Mohammad Salah birthday was today and he gets a birthday assist. Belgium probably could’ve won for the same time could’ve lost. Egypt is way way better than I expected them to be. Definitely got to make that adjustment in my pickems. I could be wrong, but I think Egypt has tied every game they’ve played in the World Cup. So like 7 or 8 games. Both teams get a well deserved point. Lukaku Belgium’s all time leading scorer helped create an own goal. Emam Ashour had a great goal. Kevin de Bruyne almost had a game winning goal but it hit the post. Both goalies were very strong. This group is wide open. Two games two draws. Let’s see if we can get a winner next.

I thought this was a really fun game. Both teams had a lot of chances but couldnt really find the ball to the net. Egypts goal came from Eman Ashour who ripped one in. Romelu Lukaku was subbed on and 25 seconds later ish a goal was scored. Because of him. Two men on him and he didnt even have to make contact with the ball to get a goal. Own goal on Egypt. I dont think either team will be too upset with the single point but Belgium definitely wouldve liked to get the win here.
