Jordan's first World Cup match was certainly a fun watch. Austria controlled the first half, led by a goal about halfway through. However, Jordan took control in the second half, 5 minutes in tying the game. Austria then looked to have taken the lead, but it was called off for a handball, a call that I thought was not the correct call. However, it would not matter as, with the help of a lucky bounce off a Jordanian's back, Austria would get their well-deserved goal on the other end of the hydration break. Austria then nailed a penalty kick to end the game. Of course, neither of these teams come anywhere close to even being competitive with Argentina, but it will be fun to watch who can come out with second in the group, and I think that will be Austria.

I hope the Americans can see why the rest of the world is so in love with football especially those first two goals they were amazing I think the Austria handball wasn’t a handball at all because it came off his body first and then onto his arm back onto his body and then into the goal. I don’t think that’s a handball and we got our first penalty of the World Cup don’t worry we’ll see a lot more of them in a few weeks when we reach the knockout stages and penalty shootouts are always tense

Props to Jordan, they played so much better than I anticipated. Austria had some banger goals especially the one in the first half. Jordan scared me at first when they were kinda in control of the game for a while. This could have been 1-5 but a big save from Jordan’s goalie and a goal taken away because of a handball. I enjoyed this game, something about it ending at 2 am just made it cooler to watch. Austria had higher expectations than Jorden to go deeper in the tournament. I don’t think we saw the best version of Austria in this one. I’m coming for that pickem badge everyone, I don’t care im in 21 first. I’m coming.

More late night World Cup action and this one was also mostly worth it as this game came down to the wire. Jordan played well for their first ever World Cup match, but it just wasn’t enough. Austria gets their first win since 1990, but don’t let the score fool you, it wasn’t easy. The first half was mostly in Austria’s favour. Granted, Jordan’s defence was formidable, not letting Austria get many good chances. Eventually, Austria found a gap and Schmid blasted a shot to the top corner to give them the lead. They continued the trends of the first half as they hung onto the possession for most of the game and Jordan was perfectly fine with that. They are a dynamic pacy team so waiting for the right counter is up their alley. Eventually, they got what they were looking for seizing the chance on the counter and Ali Owain scored Jordan’s first ever World Cup goal. A great moment, but one that was overshadowed by an Arnautovic near-goal, then an own goal he forced. Jordan never recovered.

I'm so confused when did this game start? Was it always listed on Tuesday's match list with the other 3? Why did it start so late? Does FIFA never want a situation where matches can overlap with each other?? Why can't I pick winners to save my life????

Jordan played a lot better then I think I would’ve thought they would do in their first ever wc match, but that own goal sank their chances.

Jordan looked better than I expected while Austria was lackluster for most of this one. But, despite getting screwed by VAR, talent won put in the end.

Jordan didn't make it easy for themselves. That header own goal......oof. Team must learn hownto defend a corner kick. Austria wasbthe better and more composed team.

Jordan really hung in there, but a late own goal for Austria (right after an Austria goal was called back for a handball) would give them a lead they wouldn’t give up! Austria also scored on a penalty at the very end of the game for the cherry on top! I went 4-4 on predictions today too!

Jordan really has so many good chances in the 1st half, it's sad they weren't able to equalise it or get ahead those moments. Oh the anthem whenever Austria scores is so good DUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDDUDUDUDUDU! Oh that beautiful equalizer from Jordan that is great, the Jordan goal scoring song isn't bad as well got me swaying duh. Oh that corner goal for goal number two was niceeee. Oh here's a little schuffle. Dang it was an own goal. That being the 5th own goal so far of the tournament. Poor Jordan handing Austria a penalty with that handball.

First game where I wasn’t really invested in it for a large portion, part of that was definitely because I was tired, but also after Austria went up 2-1 Jordan never looked convincing enough like they would get back in it
