WIN BAFANA BAFANA! WIN FOR SOUTH AFRICA, WIN FOR ALL AFRICA! If any of you know what I’m referencing, I love ya. More importantly, South Africa pulls off the upset and goes from a disastrous start to miraculously finishing 2nd in the group. They did it with relentless work ethic, powerful defensive play and capitalizing on opportunities. By all means, South Korea should’ve dominated. Nearly 70% of possession with all the creativity they have should’ve led to more chances. Instead, South Africa’s stout structure and power in their tackles and headers completely smothered any developing build up. Despite only having a few chances, it took an incredible challenge from Lee Gi-Hyuk had to stop South Africa from taking the lead earlier. Eventually, South Korea would bite the bullet when they let South Africa go on another counter attack that led to a goal for Thapelo Maseko. South Korea seemed like they were crushed mentally and physically after that because they couldn’t generate anything.

South Africa MOVES ON TO THE KNOCKOUT! that was not on my bingo card this year! What a turn of events from their first game against Mexico to kick off the tournament. South Korea is living a nightmare, this was their biggest fear. possibly getting grouped. Son was terrible ok, lets be honest. he was very disappointing, south Korea needed more from him. I had south Korea winning this game, Im shocked they lost. south africa was just better. 5/6 today. pretty good

SOUTH AFRICA HAS THEIR MOMENT!! This was a thrilling game in which both teams had so much to play for. South Korea needed a draw to move onto the RO32. But Thapelo Maseko for Bafana Bafana wanted to mix things up. Excellent shot through the defenders legs and that got them to the RO32. Gonna be awesome to see them. Even after that awful first game they kept their heads up and they made the best out of everything. They dominated the attacking third of this game and could've had more really. For South Korea they arent eliminated yet but they need some results to go their way to be one of the final 3rd placers to advance.

Find me a better football manager name than Hugo Broos I’ll wait. Bafana Bafana with an all time left for dead but not so fast performance to punch their ticket to the knockout round. South Korea looked gassed. Relentless pressure and attack but nothing to show for it. Nutmegged em!

This one only got interesting after SA scored. The open break for their goal almost didn't work but they luckily got it done. South Korea looked like they weren't playing to win for some reason, but to tie and get that 1 point they needed. Instead their passiveness hurt them as they got on the back foot and couldn't recover. SA with their first ever knockout stage in the wc was awesome to watch. A huge upset in this group especially after that awful first game. I never would've predicted them to qualify like this, I'm happy for them and their fans.
