Both Qatar and Bosnia needed a win to have any real chance to qualifying for the knockouts. Fortunately, both teams played with an amount of desperation that was fitting for the stakes in the first half. Bosnia started it mostly in control and unleashing some powerful shots that Qatar’s keeper had to bat away. Eventually, Alajbegovic hit a screamer just out of the keeper’s reach to give Bosnia the lead. Then a Qatar own goal made this seem like another blowout and Qatar would go down as the worst team of a 2nd straight World Cup. Fortunately for their citizens, they still had some fight in them.
Hassan Al Haydos scored before the end of the first half to give his team some hope and looked very scary in the final minutes. Fortunately for Bosnia enjoyers like myself, their defence locked it down in the second half and made sure Qatar couldn’t get much. After about 20 minutes, Qatar looked threatening again briefly before the Bosnians took firm control and eventually scored the dagger.

Okay Bosnia I see you. This is the type of shit we wanted to see out of you after you beat Italy and it’s nice it’s showing. Now with 4 points in 3rd you guys are in a great place to advance so that’s sick. Also I’m pretty sure rn we are most likely to face Bosnia (US) which I think would be a fun asf match

I feel asleep and missed the Qatar goal. I only saw one goal and I it was the first Bosnia goal. BOSNIA TO THE KNOCKOUTS!! Another disappointing World Cup from Qatar. These guys sucked! They did not deserve to be in the next round or even deserve to draw against Switzerland. I still don’t know how they did that. I had Bosnia the whole way, if they lost I’d be pissed not for my picks but for the country. I hope they can do good in the knockouts. Good luck to them!

game 50/104. opted for swiss/canada over this for the majority of the time so only caught bits and pieces of the 2nd half and highlights of the 1st. qatar just looked like the moment was too big. they were forced to bring in subs after a few red cards and it showed. bosnia was all over them the first half and weren't afraid to take shots. unlucky for qatar to concede a 2nd own goal this tournament but they just never got fully into it. was a little interesting at times at 2-1 but once bosnia scored the 3rd they completely put the game to bed. all signs pointing to bosnia being the US opponent in the knockouts and after their 3 games, i'm very okay with that
