Holy cow this was an emotional rollercoaster. The Pride match that was full of whining and crying before we even started. All from 2 nations who begged and pleased with FIFA to respect their culture while, at the same time, threatening to kill anyone who has preferences they do not like. Sadly both these teams can’t lose so a draw is what these teams deserved. Luckily, it’s what we got in the end, but the path it took to get there was far from straightforward. It started right away when Egypt scored just 5 minutes later off a delicate Saber finish. Then Iran earned a penalty and it seemed like they would inevitably tie it up. Only for Taremi to miss it and yet they managed to tie it up anyway thanks to a shot off a rebound from while nearly parallel with the goal line. But they saved the wildest part for the end. Iran seemingly won the game and stole an automatic qualifier for the knockouts on a last second goal, only for it to be called back and Iran to narrowly miss 2 more chances.

Another game that I needed to gather my thoughts on. Watched this from San Pedro Square, the HEART of world cup football in the Bay Area. And man, i gotta give a shoutout to the Masr fans out there. They showed up with us Iranians, it was 50/50 in a crowd that reached the thousands. All watching soccer in an alleyway, how about that? Masr started with an early goal to the delight of the Pharaohs. Taremi took a penalty 5 mintues later, and was staring at a tie game. But Shobeir made the SAVE OF HIS CAREER. Well maybe not that but still an electric save. But it was Iran who capitalized on a through ball that looked surely out, Rezaeian found the back of the net on a BEAUTIFUL shot to tie it back up. Both of our teams went back up and down the pitch, anxiety through the roof. An atmosphere that was better than being in the stadium itself, I'm not joking. Our chants were so synced up to the point where either team's supporters would blow their horn, and half the crowd would respond with

Yes I listened to this game and I had no freaking clue what was happening in the last 10 minutes. That was straight chaos. Iran won then they didn’t then they hit the cross bar like twice after being .001 inches offside. Huge props to Iran they have a great team, it sucks they never picked up a win. Egypt is very lucky to escape this game with a point. Very exciting game to listen to, I’d never really pick to listen to a soccer game again but it was fun. I had draw until the last minute when I switched to Egypt for god knows what reason. I’m 13th now on the leaderboard so that’s cool.

This game was so close throughout. Iran missed a pen at the start that could've changed the game. This was an intense game throughout and was very fun to watch. Iran scored an offside goal at the end that was taken back by inches, and had so many missed chances when they were getting desperate at the end. Hard fought on both sides. Iran are now waiting to hopefully qualify in 3rd place and Egypt got bumped down to 2nd because of Belgium destroying NZ.
