Uruguay has been grouped. Grouped by Cabo Verde. A country with 529,000 people. And they just finished over 2 time World Cup champion Uruguay. I don't care what anyone else says, the 48-team World Cup is perfect. We'll see more stories like this one. More heroes like Vozinha. And who knows how far Cabo Verde can go.

Uruguay clearly wanted a draw and Spain did not want to give it to them. Granted, saying they wanted to win may be a bit of a stretch. It was more so like “I’ll take it if you give it to me” and luckily for them Uruguay gave it to them when a bad mistake from their geriatric goalkeeper Muslera gave Spain the only goal of this game and therefore, the win. Aside from that, this game was slow and uneventful. Spain do win the group like we all expected, but it was more precarious than anyone expected. This game might as well be a microcosm of their run in the group stage. They got there, but it wasn’t as easy as it probably should’ve been.
Meanwhile Uruguay, my god, they are in the dumps. Anyone paying attention knew they were far from their best, but what a disaster for them. Needed to win this game and they couldn’t get anything substantial until the literal final minutes. Just pathetic. Bielsa definitely gets fired and Uruguay has gotta figure out how to move on from last generation.

Pure sadness for the Uruguay side, though throughout the whole game, you can see the passion they brought. Spain, on the other hand, didn't play that well even though they got the win. It seemed they weren't creating enough chances going forward in the attack. The game was mostly boring as it seemed both teems struggled to really get going.

Uruguay seemed to be playing for a draw but when you do that you have a pretty big chance of losing off of one little mistake and that’s exactly what happened. I feel for the Uruguay goalkeeper, that’s a straight cookie you gotta save my brother. But mistakes happen we are all human. Spain is not looking to convincing to win the championship like they have been talked about. Yea they are still incredibly talented and probably will still make the finals or semifinals I don’t see them winning. As yall probably know im huge kn France, they’d lose to France. I had Spain all the way, looking back picking draw probably would have been better but who knows. Glad it worked out.

Uruguay disappoint once again in another World Cup, but Spain didn’t play much better tbh. Uruguay is way past their prime and Spain seems to be too young and inexperienced at moments. Pretty boring game for the magnitude of these two World Cup winners.
Spain will face Austria in the Round of 32 and Uruguay has officially been eliminated from World Cup contention.
