Watched this with 30,000 Colombians at the FanFest in Miami and it didn’t disappoint. Took 4 hours to get in and we screaming all game long. Colombia deserved the win and believe we were the better team all game, but Portugal wasn’t a slouch and definitely gave us some scares especially near the end of the game.
VAR has gone too far and the memes about Davisons toe being massive are hilarious. Thankfully it didn’t cost us the 1st place in the group bc the whole stadium would have come crashing down. Colombia go undefeated in the group and gives vibes of 2016 Brazil again. As the games pass, we are playing better and more together as a team, we have a real shot at the semi-finals. Hopefully we advance and can meet Argentina for the Quarter-finals in a rematch of the Copa America Final from 2 years ago. Arias got the start and showed why he was a starter for so long.
I fear Portugal is gonna be a quick exit in the first round against Croatia, they aren’t playing well.

Should’ve been a Colombia win, but an absurd application of a rule costs them. Still a good game, that gave a fair amount of entertainment value, but man I’m only going to think about that insane decision.
The first half was electric. Both teams were guaranteed knockout football, but still had a group to play for and they lived up to those stakes with back-and-forth action. Although, Colombia was definitely the better team, Portugal was no slouch. Both teams got great chances, just couldn’t finish. The 2nd half would come in phases with Colombia domination shifting to Portugal control and then back to Colombian might. Then it got whacky. Colombia was coming inches away from a goal and Portugal was hanging on by a thread. Still, that wouldn’t be the craziest moment.
At the 90th minute, it looked like Sanchez had given Colombia a last minute winner to slay Portugal, only for it to be called offside and VAR to later reveal that it was literally just a toe off. That’s a load of crap.

Absolutely not shortage of action in this 0-0 draw. Both teams had soooo many chances to break the deadlock but it was not to be. Bruno came soooo close with that shot in the box, he smashed the thing right at the goalie! If he put it anywhere else that would be a certain goal. Take Cristiano Ronaldo out of the game when after the 75th minute. There is absolutely zero need for him to play all 90 minutes and some. In the knockouts he probably will continue to play the entire game because portugal’s manager is to scared to take him out. Colombia takes group K! Congrats to them!

Not a terrible game but no goals really hurts the rating. Both teams played aome competitive ball. Colombia definitely looked like the better team and with the draw they finish at the top of the group. They had a late winner called back on a header from Davinson Sanchez because the tip of his shoe was offsides.
